It seems that Ibrox starlet Billy Gilmour will need grammar lessons if he is to make it at Chelsea.

The 15-year-old will sign a deal at Stamford Bridge next month leaving Sevco with just a token development fee.

In a twitter message that showed up the growing problems in Scottish education Gilmour send an emotional farewell to some of his fellow Murray Park starlets.

With next to nothing coming through the ranks at the fabled soccer academy Gilmour suddenly found himself as the centre of attention earlier this season.

While clearly a decent player he was a little boy lost in the finals of the Glasgow Cup and SFA Youth Cup as Celtic demonstrated again that they are streets ahead of their city ‘rivals’. The 15-year-old was substituted at half-time in the 3-0 SFA Youth Cup Final defeat.

The hype surrounding Gilmour is similar to the attention that John Fleck was getting a decade ago. Dubbed the Scottish Wayne Rooney by some he walked away from Rangers during liquidation in 2012 and appears to have found his level by helping Sheffield United gain promotion to the English Championship.
