Sevco have snapped up the journeyman’s journeyman in Daniel Candeias.

Described as a £750,000 signing from Benfica the reality of the 29-year-old’s career is a little different as our good friend google reveals.

Benfica apparently did sign Candeias in 2014 but you’ll struggle to find a picture of him in the famous red jersey.

In three seasons with the Lisbon side the 29-year-old has been sent out on loan each season.

Five appearances in La Liga for Granada brought no goals in 2014/15 which followed a stint with Nurenburg in Bundesliga 2 before he was returned to sender.

The following season he dropped down to the French second division where he scored twice in 28 matches for Metz before spending last season on loan at Alanyaspor in Turkey.

Prior to that tour of duty Candeias had played for six different clubs after starting his career with three substitute appearances for Porto.

Candeias is the fifth player to sign up for the Caixinha revolution.
