With another new signing revealed at Ibrox so the battle with Sports Direct intensifies.

Daniel Candeias became the latest name to subscribe to the Pedro Caixinha’s revolution but there wasn’t any sign of the club’s business partners associated with the deal.

As has been traditional during this transfer window all of the signings have taken place in-house with the delighted new signing speaking only to club media.

Rather than be pictured in a club shirt Candeias’ image was taken sitting in a stand surrounded by empty blue seats.

Puma and 32 Red both missed out on the signing with their logos absent from everything associated with the signing.

When companies sign a contract they want every ounce of publicity possible, with no matches during the close season it is essential to be prominent when new signings are introduced.

The shirt of the new club is essential while media interviews against a backing board with all the prominent sponsors is expected.

Sports Direct will have their say in court, more damaging for the Sevco brand is the fact that a new shirt sponsor isn’t in place with any respected company highly unlikely to go into a partnership with a company that will abandon the terms of the deal rather than talk things through in a mature manner.
