Patrick Roberts has had a familiar voice on his phone since signing off at Celtic with a Scottish Cup winners medal.
Like every Celtic fan Kieran Tierney would love to see the winger back in the hoops next season and is trying his best to tempt Roberts back.
Speaking to the Evening Times Tierney revealed: “I am on the phone to him all the time – I am telling him every other day that he would be better back here for another crack at it!
“It is out of my hands but I spent a full season on at him so here’s hoping it might have had some effect.”
“He showed last season what he can do and he was part of what was an incredible season for us.
“ideally I am sure that the manager would like to keep that whole team together for another go at again for this season coming but it will be what it will be.”
Roberts showed his commitment to Celtic by choosing the Scottish Cup Final ahead of the u-20 World Cup Finals with England which was won yesterday by Paul Simpsons squad.
It seems unlikely that Roberts will move into the City first team squad with Pep Guardiola quickly making moves in the transfer market.
Whether he resumes his Celtic career will be decided in talks between the player and his club.
City have received a number of offers to take Roberts on loan next season but a cash offer from Celtic with a generous sell on clause- which gives City first refusal- could prove attractive to all parties.
