Chris Sutton couldn’t ignore the irony of Mark Warburton making a move for Hibs striker Jason Cummings.

Twelve months ago the former city trader brought Joe Dodoo and Joey Garner to Ibrox to help Martyn Waghorn in the bid to #goingfor55.

Rather than return to Ibrox for some of the stars that he brought to town Warbo has decided to move for a player that has spent the last three seasons outside of the top flight of Scottish football.

Hibs are believed to have accepted the £1m bid for Cummings who has scored 20 plus goals in each of the last three seasons.

Whilst at Ibrox Warbo tended to bring in players that he had worked with previously but it seems that the new Nottingham Forest boss is starting to look in other directions.

As Pedro Caixinha adds to the wage bill at Ibrox he has still to move on any of the players that he claimed were the best squad in the country.

With just over two weeks to go until the first round matches in the Europa League qualifiers the fifth best coach in Qatar has concentrated his energies on bringing in players from Portugal and Mexico.
