Long established Aberdeen fanzine The Red Final has produced a statement on the dual contracts issue that their club and Scottish football seems afraid to acknowledge.

Almost two weeks after the ruling from the Supreme Court crushed the claim that Rangers paid players through EBT’s and simply used dual contracts only Celtic have made a statement.

As well as with holding details of the dual contracts from the SFA and SPL Rangers (IL) failed to deduct income tax and national insurance from the payments from £47m.

The scheme was planned and deliberate and administered by Andrew Dickson, Paul Murray, Dave King and Alastair Johnston who are all networking within the game, welcomed by the clubs that they cheated for over a decade.

Stating their case the Red Final explain: “This is exorbitantly, systematically funding squads of a calibre far in excess of what their resources allowed.”

While the apologists come up with a number of deflection tactics there is one simple question and rule that applies- Rangers (IL) fielded ineligible players for over a decade by failing to disclose full details of player earnings to the SFA and SPL.

In recent seasons Dundee United and Dunfermline have had 3-0 defeats awarded against them for fielding ineligible players.

It isn’t a legal minefield, it doesn’t require a QC and should be dealt with unless Scottish football applies dual rules as well as approving dual contracts.
