Manchester City have wished new bhoy Olivier Ntcham the best of luck at Celtic.

The French u-21 internationalist signed a four year contract this morning for a fee believed to be around £4m.

Ntcham has spent the last two seasons on loan at Genoa and follows the well worn path from City to Celtic previously taken by Jason Denayer, John Guidetti and Patrick Roberts.

The midfielder has been named in the Celtic squad for the Champions League qualifier against Linfield and will make his debut in Belfast on Friday or in Saturday’s friendly at home to Lyon.

Ntcham is Brendan Rodgers second significant signing of the transfer window and goes straight into the competition for places in midfield.

Having played in 37 Serie A fixtures over the last two seasons the 21-year-old is unlikely to be branded a project and will go straight into contention for a first team place.

Tonight a Celtic XI faces Elgin City in a testimonial match for Mark Nicolson.
