The signing of Olivier Ntchum could be double edged for Celtic.

Signing up a French u-21 internationalist on the back of two seasons in Serie A seems like a sensible piece of business but there could be another bonus for the hoops.

On a daily basis Moussa Dembele seems to be linked with a move away from Celtic. From Marseilles to West Ham via Everton it seems to some that the striker will be anywhere but Celtic next season.

The player has never hinted at moving from Celtic and knows that a second season in the Champions League would be the best possible career option.

Ntchum and Dembele are international team mates in the French u-21 side and while the contract is with Celtic there’s little doubt that playing alongside the former Fulham striker is a big part of the attraction in the transfer.

The Daily Record reports the new bhoy saying: “Moussa tells me the club is great. He was so happy when I arrived at Celtic.

“We have played together a long time, since we were 15-16 years-old for France. I’m very happy to be here, it’s a new challenge for me.”

Ntchum will miss tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Linfield as he concentrates on catching up with his new team-mates in terms of fitness.
