Sevco are facing a fans probe after their first ever match in the Europa League.

Kenny Miller’s 37th minute goal sparked scenes not witnessed since Joey Garner headed a last gasp winner against Partick Thistle with many supporters unable to keep their emotions in check.

A number of paper balls were aimed at the Progres Niederkorn goalkeeper with the match held up before the Luxembourg outfit could restart the game.

The incident was noted by the referee and UEFA observer and has been included in the reports sent to the Disciplinary Committee.

According to a report in the Daily Mail: “The fact Swedish referee Mohammed Al-Hakim had to temporarily call a halt while the paper was cleared from the area has evidently featured in the report of the UEFA observer Tormod Larsen.

While the Norwegian’s report is believed to praise the general behaviour of the sell-out crowd, the mention of the incident will merit further investigation with the possibility of a charge further down the line.”

The old Rangers club were in constant conflict with UEFA over the anti-catholic singing of their supporters.

In 2006 UEFA banned the singing of The Billy Boys with travelling fans banned from their final Champions League qualifier away to Malmo due to further anti-catholic singing.
