Neil Lennon has brushed aside criticism from Club 1872 and described their statement about him as laughable.

After watching Hibs win 3-2 at Ibrox on Saturday all attention was switched onto the Hibs boss to deflect attention from a costly defeat for Pedro Caixinha’s side.

Lennon is a favourite fall guy for the Ibrox support with the Irishman not giving the official fans group the satisfaction of a reply.

Asked about the statement Lennon told STV: “It was laughable and insignificant. I’ve never heard of them. It looked like it was written by a 15-year-old.

“I was aware of it but I don’t need to comment on it.”

After three days of front page attention for his goal celebration at Ibrox Police Scotland decided that the Hibs boss wouldn’t have to face charges.

While Lee McCulloch can manage at Celtic Park without any incident or threats to his safety different rules appear to apply to Lennon.

The SFA and SPFL haven’t made any comment on the anti-Catholic chants that were directed at the Hibs manager with no action taken despite another pitch invasion from Sevco fans.

On Saturday Hibs host Hamilton Accies at Easter Road looking to maintain their 100% SPFL record.
