The long running Patrick Roberts saga is expected to be completed today with the Manchester City winger returning to Celtic on loan.

According to reports in the Daily Mail and in The Sun a loan deal between the two clubs has been agreed with the player expected to be in Glasgow later today to complete the deal.

There has been a number of false alarms over the last month about a deal ‘to bring Paddy home’ but with four days left in the transfer window it seems that the move is finally about to be completed.

Since he returned to City at the end of last season Brendan Rodgers has spoken regularly about getting Roberts back to Glasgow, over the last week or so the Celtic boss has used the phrases developing or on-going when asked about the England u-20 winger.

Roberts was in devastating form towards the end of his 18 month loan spell, putting in devastating form as Celtic clinched the treble and enjoyed a 5-1 win over Sevco at Ibrox.

With that deal finally set to be completed attention will turn to other areas of the squad for strengthening with Rodgers mentioning looking at a third striker and also an additional central defender over the last couple of weeks.
