Scott Sinclair has been nominated for UEFA’s Champions League goal of the week.

The Celtic favourite scored the third and final goal as the hoops beat Anderlecht 3-0 to roar back into contention in Group B.

With the biggest, best and most expensive names in the game in action this week the former Aston Villa man will be delighted with his nomination.

Celtic fans are a powerful force on social media with Sinclair likely to be among the favourites to pick up the award which is voted for by fans.

Up against Sinclair is Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint Germain), Fernando (Spartak Moscow), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) and Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City).

Sinclair was unlucky not to score in last season’s competition but made no mistake last night after Olivier Ntcham broke up an Anderlecht move.

After racing into the penalty box Sinclair sent his shot high into the net before racing over to celebrate with the Celtic support.
