The Traynor Files

Once again James Traynor has found himself creating the news with his claim that Rangers avoided liquidation.

Ask HMRC what they thought of the CVA proposed by Charles Green.

Ask the 267 creditors out of pocket since 2012.

Ask the thousands of punters left holding meaningless Debenture certificates.

If all that fails he may wish to try a google search of his own coverage from the summer of 2012.

On 13 June 2012 Traynor told his army of readers at the Daily Record ‘Rangers FC as we know them are dead. It’s all over.’

Of course under the instructions of Charles Green he was later instructed to airbrush over that little area. Change it to financial meltdown or whatever but don’t mention the L word.

While he wishes to rewrite history one thing he can’t do is airbrush his own history.

At the Daily Record he covered the financial problems of various clubs from Motherwell, Dundee, Livingston, Airdrie and Partick Thistle.

The tone was similar throughout, if you don’t pay your bills, if you live outwith your means you face the consequences.

With debt mounting again at Ibrox, with no overdraft facility and no mainstream bank a familiar narrative will soon be unfolding. It is only a matter of time.
