Michael Stewart launched a brutal attack on Gordon Strachan for Scotland’s World Cup failure.
While Sky Sports quickly lost interest in the 2-2 draw with Slovenia, Radio Scotland went in to post mortem mode straight after the final whistle.
Having battled and scrapped their way into pole position Scotland’s meek surrender shocked Stewart who was capped by Berti Vogts.
Strachan doesn’t know the domestic players well enough, hence why they are overlooked & why he’s at odds with the majority of fans….

Shinnie, Christie, Walker, McGinn & MacGregor either not in the squad or not played, I think that’s a mistake. Domestic players overlooked.

This isn’t a debate of domestic v anglo it’s about getting the best players on the park & I just feel the manager sways too much one way…

On air Stewart highlighted how Leigh Griffiths was the only outfield Celtic player on the park at the final whistle.
Strachan’s decision to leave James Forrest and Callum McGregor on the bench was as baffling as substituting Kieran Tierney.
Scotland’s brief run of form in the group came when there were six Celtic players on the park carrying out the standards set by Brendan Rodgers.
One of Strachan’s favourite defences is that his critics don’t understand the game having never played it- the criticism of a former internationalist will be harder to brush aside but with no international matches planned Strachan can step out of the spotlight.
