Pedro Caixinha has performed an incredible u-turn on Kenny Miller.

Two weeks ago the 37-year-old was banished to a low key reserve team friendly at Brentford after a week of leaks from Murray Park to the back pages of the Daily Record and The Sun.

Fingers were being pointed at Miller with the club’s pet website producing a hatchet job on the vice captain.

Last Saturday Miller was back in favour, coming off the bench to score in the 3-3 draw against Morton and has been back in training with the top team this week.

Speaking today ahead of Friday’s match at St Johnstone Caixinha told The Sun: “Kenny is one of our players from the squad like all the others.

All of them have the same respect and behaviour from our side but I’m the manager.

I decide the players who will start the game, I decide the players that are going to be in the squad, and I also decide the players who will be out of the squad.

Kenny is definitely one of ours and, like all the others, it depends on my decision.”

Caixinha also revealed that Miller had picked up a knock in training and may not be fit for the trip to St Johnstone.

With St Johnstone and Sevco both sitting six points behind Celtic and Aberdeen a win for the Ibrox club is essential for Caixinha’s credibility with his job under threat since the 2-0 home defeat from Celtic last month.
