Pedro Caixinha is expected to be sent on gardening leave later today.

Around 11am this morning word went out to favoured news outlets that an emergency board meeting had been called to discuss the current Sevco boss.

With Caixinha giving no indications that he is prepared to walk away Dave King and his fellow directors will have to find a different way of getting rid of the fifth best coach in Qatar.

Last night’s 1-1 home draw with Kilmarnock has proved to be one embarrassment too far with Sevco dropping down to fourth place- eight points behind leaders Celtic and five behind Aberdeen in the race for second place.

Caixinha was given the best part of £10m to spend on players during the close season and handed out lucrative long term contracts to mainly Portuguese and Mexican stars.

As results took a downturn attempts have been made to reduce the summer spend but whoever takes over will have a near impossible job trying to move on misfits like Carlos Pena and Bruno Alves.

A Real Rangers Man is almost certain to take over and will be able to recall Micky O’Halloran from St Johnstone in January with Andy Halliday and Harry Forrester scheduled to return at the end of the season.

Graeme Murty and Kenny Miller are on stand by to take charge of Saturday’s match away to Hearts at Tynecastle..
