Sutton’s Bayern Munich verdict

Chris Sutton never enjoyed much luck in the Champions League with his old club short on favours as they lost out to Bayern Munich.

The BT Sport pundit has been of the firm opinion that Celtic should have invested in central defenders during the summer with that view reinforced tonight.

At Bayern’s first goal Dedryck Boyata opted to leave a through ball while Nir Bitton was out-jumped for Bayern second.

In-between Celtic played some glorious stuff, Callum McGregor scored a fantastic goal but at the highest level any shortcomings are brutally exposed. There is little or no margin for error.

Next up Brendan Rodgers has the daunting task of taking his side to face a Paris Saint Germain side who have a goal difference of 16-0 after four straight wins.

It may not make for pleasant viewing in the French capital but with a side growing in front of their eyes the Celtic support will be out in force roaring their side on.
