Sevco have disputed a claim by Pedro Caixinha’s agent that a severance package hasn’t been agreed for the former Ibrox boss.

The fifth best coach in Qatar took training at Murray Park last Thursday morning before being summoned to Ibrox and being dismissed.

Seven months into a three year contract Caixinha took that decision in his stride expecting to be paid up in full and move on to his next job.

The cash flow problems at Ibrox are well known with the club being snubbed by mainstream banks and reliant on soft loans from directors to stay afloat.

Agreeing a severance deal and transferring the money over are two separate matters but Paul Murray’s favourite newspaper claim that all is well with the pay off.

The Daily Record reports: “Rangers sources insist the package has been signed off and relationships with Caixinha are amicable, despite him being sacked after just seven months.

It’s believed any delay in the receipt of payment is from the Portuguese manager’s own side, with his lawyers based in South America.

Caixinha is a wanted man in Mexico, where he used to manage Santos Laguna and a string of clubs have already contacted him, including heavyweights Guadalajara, Cruz Azul and Pumas.”

If no payment is made or the club decide to stagger payments it seems certain that Caixinha will go to court which could expose the state of the club’s finances.

Sevco have still to publish their audited accounts for the year to June 2017 with further heavy losses anticipated.
