John Hartson picked out two key features from Celtic’s performance against Bayern Munich.

The former hoops striker watched the action with Henrik Larsson in the BT Sport studio as Brendan Rodgers’ side came close to a thrilling victory.

In the end defensive frailties led to a 2-1 defeat but against a club that expects to take part in the semi-finals of the Champions League every season the hoops stood their ground.

Despite the loss there was incredible pride among the support as a side led by three players who have come through the ranks put Bayern on the back foot.

Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor and James Forrest were all outstanding and have a combined service of close to 50 years at the club.

The defeat means that Celtic will almost certainly drop into the Europa League after Christmas- with every chance of repeating the achievements of Hartson’s team-mates of 2003.
