Hamilton Accies have rejected a £300,000 bid from Sevco for Greg Docherty.
The move follows a pattern and it’s unclear if it was the same cash that had been offered for Jordan Jones of Kilmarnock or if the Ibrox club could afford to splash out on both players if their offers were accepted.
Yesterday Steve Clarke and Kris Boyd criticised how Sevco had gone about their business with Hamilton keeping a firm silence on the offer for Docherty who is on a long term contract.
While there has been a flurry of loan moves into Ibrox not a penny has been spent on transfer fees with the new arrivals due to be returned to their parent clubs in four months time.
The tactic of leaking transfer information to the media is well established at Ibrox with Sevco using the same tactic during the summer transfer window to try and sign Jamie Walker from Hearts. Last week Walker joined Wigan for £300,000.
