In a reversal of their traditional role of leaking interest from Sevco in SPFL players the Daily Record is now attempting to push up the value of Jack Hendry ahead of an expected bid from Celtic.

According to Keith Jackson, Dundee are ready to slap a £1.5m price tag on the defender that Neil McCann signed on a free transfer last summer.

Hendry has made 27 appearances for the Dark Blues, in 2016 Celtic paid Start £700,000 for Kris Ajer  who had made over 50 top team appearances and was a Norwegian youth internationalist.

Over the last week the Record has been ahead of the ball as Sevco make tentative enquires for Greg Docherty and Jordan Jones which have been dismissed by Hamilton and Kilmarnock.

Celtic are looking to bring in another centre half but after paying £900,000 to RB Leiplzig for Marvin Compper they are unlikely to pay an extra 50% for a 22-year-old whose CV covers Partick Thistle, Wigan, Shrewsbury and MK Dons.

An offer in the region of £750,000 would be hard for Dundee to resist with a sell-on clause protecting their interest if Hendry moves back to England.
