Leeds United are believed to be preparing a bid for Josh Windass.

According to the well connected Keith Jackson of the Daily Record the Championship side are prepared to better the report of a £500,000 offer that has already been made by Preston North End for the former Accrington Stanley starlet.

With four loan aces added to their wage bill this month Sevco will be keen to move on some players during the transfer window to help them cover their monthly losses.

Windass has found a new lease of life under Graeme Murty, discovering a goal touch that had never previously been part of his game.

Wigan have also been linked with the 24-year-old but after paying Hearts £300,000 for Jamie Walker their interest has cooled.

Windass moved to Ibrox on a four year contract in July 2016 and could expect to treble his wages with a move to either Preston or Leeds.
