With Nir Bitton facing knee surgery Brendan Rodgers has been left with a straight choice between Hendry and Jozo Simunovic for tonight’s Europa League tie.
Hendry only joined Celtic a fortnight ago but could make his home debut tonight as the hoops look for a clean sheet to take into next week’s return leg in Russia.
Injuries to Dedryck Boyata and Marvin Compper have reduced Celtic’s defensive options with Hendry’s only appearance coming in the 1-0 defeat away to Kilmarnock.
In that match he found himself playing alongside Kieran Tierney for the bulk of the match after Ajer and Boyata suffered injuries in the first half hour.
The only good news for Celtic on the injury front is that Tom Rogic is likely to be on the bench tonight after two months out of action.
