Charles Green and Imran Ahmad won’t face any charges over the purchase of the basket of assets that they purchased from Duff and Phelps in 2012.

The Yorkshire businessman failed to come up with a CVA to save Rangers in June 2012 but quickly puchased Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park for £6.5m from the administrators.

Later in the year Green raised £22m from a share issue that valued Murray Park and Ibrox at around £80m.

Creditors in the club were recently given a 1.5p in the pound payout with government agencies, utilities, Emergency Services, Local Authorities, taxi companies, florists and newsagents left out of pocket/

A report in The Herald quotes a Crown Office spokesman saying: “Crown Counsel has considered the matter and instructed no further action on the basis that there is now no evidence of a crime.”

Last summer Craig Whyte was cleared of any wrong doing from his £1 purchase of the distressed club from Dave Murray.

No charges have ever been put to Murray, in July of 2017 the Supreme Court ruled that the EBT scam that he operated was a disguised remuneration scheme liable to income tax and national insurance.
