Australian website The World Game has claimed that Tom Rogic has rejected a new contract from Celtic.

With his current contract running until June 2019 talks are likely to have started but it’s highly unlikely that a finalised offer has been made never mind rejected.

Rogic signed his current contract shortly after Brendan Rodgers arrived and is in a significant group that includes James Forrest, Stuart Armstrong, Scott Brown and Dedryck Boyata who are out of contract at the end of next season.

Celtic will be looking for decisions on contract talks with those players by the end of the current season allowing them the summer to try and move players out and bring in replacements.

Rogic has just recently returned from a two month injury absence and faces fresh competition for his place from Charly Musonda.

With the World Cup Finals coming up in the summer the 25-year-old won’t be involved in Celtic’s early European qualifiers which start while the World Cup is still underway.

Celtic signed Rogic from Central Coast Mariners in January 2013 in a deal reported to be worth around £500,000.
