Graeme Murty will breathe a sigh of relief at 4pm today when the Chinese transfer window closes.

For five weeks the Ibrox boss has been bracing himself for a mystery bid from a mystery club for star striker Alfredo Morelos.

Despite no interest whatsoever from England during the January transfer window Murts has been in talks about the departure of the Columbian.

Nothing has been heard from the Chinese end of things but with the window closing today the caretaker Ibrox boss is confident that any late bid will be rejected by the cash strapped company.

Speaking to the Press Association last night Murts said: “I’m still relaxed about the Alfredo situation. I can’t do anything about what they do.

If they come in with a ridiculous bid that the club want to talk about then we’ll have a conversation but until that happens I’ve got a centre forward who is adding to our collective and scoring goals and looking like he’s really got his mind focused.”

Rejecting the mystery bid seems an unusual decision with Sevco having to turn to Close Brothers for an emergency loan to see out the season.

Dave King’s refusal to provide the £4.2m required to see out the season forced the club to turn to the company known as the lender of last resort.

In order to get the £3m Sevco had to put up Edmiston House, the iconic Albion Car Park, the stadium wi-fi, tellys and pie stalls.

Dave King’s appeal against the Court of Session backing the Takeover Appeal Board will be heard today in Edinburgh.
