When Celtic were in St Petersburg Rod Stewart was in London.
Yesterday when Celtic were winning at Ibrox Rod was in Moscow with the Bolshoi Ballet.
Like Celtic fans worldwide the entertainer’s thoughts were with Brendan Rodgers side as they went into action looking to deliver a knock-out blow in the Premiership ‘race’.
I was so struck with pride and excitement for my team and supporters that I had to shout it from the rooftops… which happened to be the stage of the Bolshoi ballet where I was presenting the award for the best conductor. #CelticPride – Rod xxx pic.twitter.com/NmdeQMd1S3

It’s not often than Moussa Dembele, Tom Rogic and Odsonne Edouard are mentioned at the ballet but an emotional Rod name checked each of the Celtic scorers.
The action at Ibrox was certainly dramatic and worthy of the theatre as Celtic twice battled from behind to clinch three points despite being down to ten men.
There were heroes throughout Brendan Rodgers’ squad with teenager Edouard grabbing the glory with a brilliant strike two minutes after replacing James Forrest.
Next up for Celtic, and Rod is a trip to Motherwell on Sunday as the run in to lifting the title gets underway towards another huge celebration.
