Neil Lennon has got his wish with Hibs avoiding a third visit to Ibrox after the SPFL finally announced their post-split fixture schedule.

Despite having already won twice at Ibrox this season the Hibs boss spoke out last month when it seemed that his side would get the short straw and sent along the M8 to face Graeme Murty’s side.

As the promoted club Hibs had been allocated Club 12 status and it was assumed that they would be disadvantaged in any imbalance in the final set of fixtures.

I’m assuming that because we’re the lowest seeded team we will be going there for the third time. If that does happen it will be a major concern.

It will be a major disadvantage – not only for our chances of finishing second, but also from a financial point of view as we lose out on a sell-out home crowd, which I think we have earned the right to have.

We will just have to cross that bridge when it comes to it.

While the SPFL have remained silent on the subject Hearts issued a statement that explained that clubs in positions 5,6,7 and 8 would be disadvantaged with a third away match.

Hearts and Kilmarnock will both travel to Ibrox for a third time after the break with Hibs hosting Sevco in the final match of the season.

With a potential Europa League place up for grabs in that fixture there will be plenty of tension in the air with the police no doubt concerned about a repeat of the 2016 Scottish Cup Final when fans from both clubs battled on the pitch at Hampden.
