Carlos Pena is on his way back to Sevco after literally taking the p out of loan club Cruz Azul.

The midfielder, signed for £3m by Sevco last July, was sent back to Mexico on loan during the January transfer window but despite being reunited with Pedro Caixinha his time at the club has been littered with disciplinary problems.

Last week it was reported that Pena had been disciplined after being pictured in club kit buying beer straight after training.

Now a number of Mexican sources have revealed that later that day he was involved in a hotel incident where under the influence he urinated in a hotel fountain.

According to ESPN: “The management of the celestial concentration hotel notified the directors that Peña was in a state of drunkenness and urinating in a fountain. There was evidence of that act, but they were in charge of erasing it. “

Cruz Azul are going by the book and offering the player counselling which is the same route that Sevco should go down.

A generation or two ago the Ibrox club could have sacked Pena and saved on £25,000/week for over two years but that is no longer possible due to employment legislation.

Pena will have to be offered support and medical help if the club formed in 2012 by Charles Green decide that he has an alcohol problem.

The player known as Gullit for some unknown reason was last summer’s marquee signing as Caixinha planned to halt Celtic’s bid to win seven in a row.
