No club from Ibrox will ever be in crisis, disarray is the word and a broken crest will never be published in a newspaper.
Under the surface disarray seems to be an understatement with Graeme Murty the most lame duck manager in history with a number of issues way above his pay grade needing dealt with.
Without doubt Murty isn’t close to being able to cope with the pressure of the job with that pressure set to intensify as the week progresses with another clash with Celtic before the month is out.
There are a number of fire-fighting specialists are available, many of them are Real Rangers Men but talking them into taking charge won’t be an easy task.
Who takes part in the negotiations, Dave King, Stewart Robertson or Mark Allen?
Murty has been to Celtic Park twice and escaped with a draw, his luck is unlikely to survive a third trip in the final meaningful match of the season for the tribute act.
Finishing second, third or fourth is insignificant compared to putting on a show of defiance at the home of the champions.
Selling season tickets is critical to Sevco’s short term survival, another hiding from Celtic will require off the radar spin to shift tickets to the gullibles through the summer.
WALTER SMITH
The saviour in a cardigan, like Dave Murray a man that is forever associated with the good days at Ibrox despite keeping quiet throughout as his egomaniac chairman drove the club towards extinction.
It is now seven years since Smith walked away from the dug out, part of him must dream of a glorious return while his sensible head says steer well clear.
He served as a non-executive director under Charles Green then became chairman to rake in season ticket money before walking away again in the summer of 2013.
Smith knows the manifest problems of the club but if the cash is on offer he could surely be tempted back for five matches, earlier this year he made his interest known in the Scotland job.
KENNY MILLER
Highly unlikely after the events of Sunday but where Sevco are involved any stunt is possible for a short term boost.
His ego is enormous, if Murty is removed he’ll certainly make it known that he is available to become caretaker for the remaining matches.
Nothing is too far fetched with the state Sevco are in, Miller could identify a core of 14 players to slug it out until the end of the season and hope to get a place in next season’s management team.
BILLY DAVIES
Has had multiple issues at every club he has been in charge of, fall outs and walk outs with directors and the media are part and parcel of his make up.
He does however produce effective football teams capable of reaching the Championship play-offs in England.
That sort of organisation and determination is exactly what Sevco require to get through the remainder of the season without too much further humiliation.
FRANK DE BOER
A pin up appointment that would shift season tickets but a third short term failure would kill off the reputation of the Dutchman.
The EBT laden club that he knew 14 years ago bears no recognition to the current mob but he could be dressed up as the Dutch Brendan Rodgers.
De Boer’s negotiating power has been greatly weakened by his sackings from Inter Milan and Crystal Palace but some limited success at Ibrox could redeem his reputation.
IAN CATHRO
Was strongly linked with the Ibrox job in 2015 but the new board opted for Mark Warburton.
Like others in the frame his reputation has taken a hammering from his most recent job which ended before the season really started at Hearts.
Cathro could be easily manipulated by the board, a five match trial run could put him back in the spotlight and start to rebuild his reputation which was left in tatters when he left Tynecastle.
ALEX MCLEISH
Mr EBT is in place at Hampden but a five match loan could be agreed for the good of Scottish football.
The former Birmingham City boss has been touting himself for any job at Ibrox but was overlooked for Pedro Caixinha and then caretaker Murty.
Michael O’Neill and Walter Smith were the first picks to be Scotland manager, McLeish isn’t too proud to go into a job as third choice.
ALAN PARDEW
Has been regularly linked with the job and put himself in the front-line when he attended a derby fixture at Celtic Park last season.
He has extensive experience from the EPL but the good work at Newcastle has largely been undone by horror spells at Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion.
It will be a tough job talking him in to taking the job on but the same was said when Celtic were first linked with Brendan Rodgers.
