Kenny MacIntyre has been taken apart after disowning an article that he wrote about Tom Rogic going to Southampton.

The BBC Scotland presenter is never comfortable outside of his comfort zone which usually consists of at least one member of the Ferguson family and a former Rangers (IL) player who thought that he was being paid by EBT.

Covering Celtic’s success on a daily basis has been a painful experience for MacIntyre with only the comforting thoughts of Alex Rae, Steven Thompson and Kris Boyd to provide hope for the future.

The prospect of Tom Rogic moving elsewhere provided a beacon of hope with the man from the state broadcaster hoping that the goalscoring midfielder would follow the well worn route to Southampton.

Using a slight variation on the favoured get-out phrase ‘BBC Scotland understands’ on May 2 MacIntyre claimed: “Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic is a top summer target for Premier League club Southampton, BBC Scotland has learned.

The Australia international, 25, has one year left on his contract with the newly-crowned Scottish champions.”

In the previous seven weeks Rogic scored against Sevco at Ibrox, Hampden and Celtic Park taking his stats against the tribute act to four goals in four games for the double treble winning season.

Two days before the Scottish Cup Final win over Motherwell Rogic signed a new five year contract with Celtic, something that even the BBC Scotland should understand.
