Celtic took 75 minutes and 51 words to remind Sevco of their place in the Scottish game.

The Ibrox side pandered to the hard line elements in their support by slashing Celtic’s ticket allocation for Ibrox down to 900.

That announcement was greeted with the same joy as a last minute winner at Firhill as desperate Ibrox fans attempt to get some consolation from Celtic’s domination of the game.

Over 40,000 season tickets have been sold for Ibrox with the company anxious to get money in up front rather than get by on match by match income.

Celtic took that announcement in their stride and quickly delivered the reaction that their fans expected.

The double treble winners stated: β€œAn unprecedented Double Treble and historic season for the Club has led to a phenomenal level of demand from supporters to be part of Celtic.

β€œWe are happy to reciprocate in terms of ticket allocation, something which will give us the opportunity to meet this huge demand to visit Celtic Park.”

In the season just finished both clubs allocated around 7,000 tickets to opposition fans for the derby fixture.

Other clubs visiting Celtic Park can have around 1,200 tickets with only Aberdeen taking up that sort of number.

Celtic are likely to release a small number of additional season tickets but will be able to sell additional tickets on a one off basis for next season’s derby matches.
