Craig Gordon is on a short list of keepers wanted to be the new back-up at Manchester United.

According to a report in The Sun the Celtic keeper and Joe Hart are on a short list as Jose Mourinho prepares to lose current second choice Sergio Romero.

With David de Gea the undisputed first choice keeper first team prospects are bleak as the Old Trafford back up but at the age of 35 there may be some financial appeal to Gordon who has played a key role in Celtic’s double treble success.

Chelsea were keen to take the former Sunderland keeper to Stamford Bridge in January 2017 but soon afterwards he signed a new Celtic contract keeping him at Celtic until 2020.

Manchester United would probably be able to double the keeper’s wages but it seems that after missing almost three seasons through injury that Gordon’s priority is to keep on playing rather than opt for semi-retirement.
