With statements and squirrels being launched at an unprecedented rate it’s easy to speculate that there is major bad news about to come out of Ibrox.

The appointment of Steven Gerrard certainly ensured that the gullibles raced to snap up season tickets even though they will almost certainly be watching last season’s failures go through the motions again.

One twitter account has suggested that there were unwelcome visitors to the Blue Room which has echoes of 2011/12 about it.

A week after losing to Malmo in the Champions League qualifiers Sheriff Officers paid a visit to Rangers (IL) presenting them with the long overdue £2.8m bill incurred paying Tore Andre Flo and Ronald de Boer.

The club responded to that by not paying Her Majesty the money that they deducted from employees for National Insurance and Income Tax.

Rather than dive in there and then Her Majesty waited until February, once the overdue taxes were above 75% of the total debt.

On 14 February 2012 the club was put into administration, they limped on to complete the season before Her Majesty refused a CVA sending 140 years of hatred, cheating and racism into the history books followed by a full stop.

It’s believed that the tribute act has a number of overdue invoices.
