Calvin Miller is a transfer target of Sunderland.
A season long loan deal has been suggested by the Sunderland Chronicle for the player who has one of the toughest jobs in football- being understudy to Kieran Tierney.
Miller made a handful of appearances last season at left-back but Brendan Rodgers already has cover for that position with Callum McGregor.
New Sunderland boss Jack Ross is well aware of Miller’s ability and has a big rebuilding job in store with his new club strong favourites to win promotion back to the Championship.
Miller only has a year left to run on his Celtic contract and would have to sign an extension before going out on loan.
Brendan Rodgers converted Miller from being a striker or winger into a left-back and has given the 20-year-old plenty of encouragement.
Tierney’s form however effectively closes the door to Miller at Celtic but a season under Ross at Sunderland would provide Miller with a great opportunity.
