Leigh Griffiths has enjoyed Celtic’s four match winning run at Ibrox on and off the park.

When the striker isn’t belting the ball into the back of the net he’ll be sitting in with the fans flying the flag.

Hosting four successive hoops parties has proved too much for the home fans who petitioned the blue room of dignity to cut Celtic’s ticket allocation.

Dave King was happy to play that card but before Celtic visit Ibrox in December his latest Revolution will face up to 59,000 hostile fans at Celtic Park.

It is bound to be an emotional moment for the Gerrard family as they see Scott Brown take his team-mates into a huddle as the fans sing You’ll Never Walk Alone.

King will have to wait until late December to see the benefits of his latest stunt but it’s not something that Griffiths will lose sleep over.

There will be a wall of noise and our fans won’t be heard as much,” the Celtic striker told The Sun.

There is normally a massive support behind the goal when Celtic go to Ibrox. Now we only have the corner and we need to try to silence the home crowd.

Will it drive us on? As players, our objective is to go out in every game and be the best team.

We want to do that by playing a certain way and winning games.

If we do that, we will silence the home crowd and you will be able to hear our fans.”

The first Glasgow derby is scheduled for Saturday 1 September but is likely to be put back 24 hours in case one club is involved in Europa League qualifiers on the Thursday.
