Wednesday D-Day in Sports Direct judgement

The judgement in Sports Direct’s injunction against Sevco will be published at 10.30am tomorrow.

Both parties presented evidence today at the High Court in the dispute over the new retail and distribution contract set up by the Ibrox company.

Last June Dave King agreed a £3m fee to terminate the contract set up by founding father Charles Green in 2012 with a new contract giving the sports-ware giant the right to match any future contract set up by the club.

Sevco informed Sports Direct of their new deal on June 4 but failed to provide a breakdown of the different elements of the contract.

Sports Direct then applied for an injunction which has halted sales of the new range of Hummel kit.

With Sevco surviving from soft loans there is little chance that they will be able to pay off Sports Direct with Mike Ashley’s firm wanting to hand pick the lucrative elements to sell exclusively in their store.

Whatever judgement is made tomorrow is likely to be appealed- increasing Sevco’s legal costs and adding to the delay in allowing fans to purchase genuine replica kits.

Thousands of fake kits have been purchased from Turkey with much more sales expected with the official replica kits caught up in a legal wrangle.
