Dedryck Boyata is preparing to resume his Celtic career tomorrow.

The defender will return to first team training at Lennoxtown tomorrow and is expected to be in the starting XI to face Suduva on Thursday night.

Boyata pulling on a Celtic jersey will be difficult for many fans to accept although nothing is ever definite in the world of football- especially when there is a potential £9m transfer fee in the air.

Over the last ten days the 27-year-old has been involved in:

a £9m transfer to Fulham fall through

missed training due to injury while his agent confronted Brendan Rodgers,

opted out of matches against Hearts and AEK Athens

posted an Instagram video of his ‘injury treatment’

saw his manager tell TV viewers that he isn’t injured

sent to train with the youth side

Now after Rodgers opened the door to a return to action Boyata was doorstepped by the Daily Record and appears ready for action almost as if nothing had happened.

He said: “I’m feeling good, I’m strong and I’ll be training on Monday. One thing you need to know is that things with the boys are good.

There are no problems there. I have no issues with the fans or my team-mates.”

There is only likely to be 200 Celtic fans in Suduva but Boyata will face a much bigger jury next Sunday when the hoops host Hamilton Accies.
