Aberdeen have lost their appeal against the red card issued to Mikey Devlin during the 2-0 defeat from Kilmarnock.
Four minutes into the match the former Hamilton defender jostled with Eamon Brophy for possession, the Kilmarnock striker probably made the first pull before he got crossed Devlin’s path and fell to the ground.

Thirty-five yards from goal it is highly debatable if a clear goal scoring opportunity was denied but that was the decision of Craig Thomson, the referee that overlooked Allan McGregor’s attack on Motherwell’s Peter Hartley six days earlier.
After four rounds of fixtures the SFA have created a dangerous set of precedents with Devlin’s red card as baffling as Gary Dicker’s for Killie the previous week against Hearts.
Alfredo Morelos did successfully appeal against his red card for kicking out at Scott McKenna with Steven Naismith and McGregor going unpunished for striking out at opponents.
