Scott Brown is ready to sign up for another season at Celtic.

The midfielder was a £4.4m signing from Hibs in 2007 and was given a testimonial match at the end of last season.

Many fans thought that the arrival of Brendan Rodgers would see Brown’s days come to a halt but the Fifer has been the biggest influence on the double treble winners.

At the age of 33 Brown has wisely stepped down from international duty and is happy to take his contracts one year at a time.

Me and the club we are speaking,” he told STV. “There is no problem between myself and the club. They know I’m going to sign. There is no issues whatsoever.”

“It’s just a matter of time for us to get it done. We first started talking just before international break.

“It will be done in next couple of weeks hopefully.

“I still feel I’ve got a good few years left in me. That will be part of the discussion.

“I think two or three years easily. I feel fit and I feel good.”

Brown was at his dominating best in the recent derby success over Sevco when he was told in advance how another Revolution was going to put him on his backside.

Alongside Olivier Ntcham he was the driving force in Celtic’s 1-0 win as he sets out for his ninth title winners medal.
