It’s been quite an eight days for Dedryck Boyata.

After a rocky couple of weeks he returned to football in the match against Hamilton Accies with a banner from the Green Brigade explaining their feelings.

In an ironic twist to the tale he scored the only goal of the match as Celtic enjoyed a rare clean sheet.

Moussa Dembele stole the spotlight around the match against Suduva with Boyata staying put as the transfer window finally closed.

Filip Benkovic added another defensive option for Brendan Rodgers but it was Boyata and Kris Ajer that were paired together for the derby match.

Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty barely got a look in as Celtic dominated, when Sevco broke Boyata gave them no encouragement, blocking out a number of balls into the box as the hoops recorded their third clean sheet in eight days.

Boyata is certain to leave in January or next summer but he has shown a degree of respect and professionalism that others learn from.
