Peter Lawwell has admitted that Celtic may not take tickets for the Glasgow derby at Ibrox on December 29.

In a bid to win favour with season ticket holders the current club from Ibrox, founded by Charles Green in 2012, announced that all away fans would only be given 800 tickets for SPFL matches at Ibrox.

Celtic have won four matches on the bounce at Ibrox with 7,500 hoops fans filling the Broomloan Road Stand.

After the announcement about the Ibrox allocation Celtic did likewise with just 800 visiting fans cheering on Steven Gerrard’s team when they lost 1-0 in September.

During the Question and Answer session at the club AGM the board were twice asked about the safety of Celtic fans going to Ibrox.

Lawwell revealed that a plan is in place to bus supporters from Celtic Park to and from Ibrox but admitted that there were concerns.

Quite possibly we may not take tickets.

Celtic are in consultation with support groups about their allocation of tickets for the match.

Officials from Celtic will also visit Ibrox to discuss safety arrangements for the match.

Lawwell did say that the decision would be for Celtic supporters but when pressed as ‘head of the house’ about assuring supporter safety he admitted that the club may turn down the allocation of 800 tickets.
