Chris Sutton has dived head first into the cesspit of social media.

The former Celtic striker used that phrase to describe some of the views expressed about Neil Lennon after the Hibs boss was struck in the face by a coin thrown by a Hearts fan.

Led by Gary Caldwell giving credibility to their actions thousands of Lennon-haters have surfaced to blame the Hibs boss for the scenes at Tynecastle.

Yesterday Hearts and Hibs issued a joint statement condemning the actions of ‘a tiny percentage of supporters’.

Among that ‘tiny percentage’ thousands were cheering when Lennon fell to the ground with no-one seated around the coin chucker coming forward to identify the thug.

Radio Scotland and TalkSPORT have regularly been broadcasting the views of those believing that Lennon brings it on himself with little sign of a counter argument.
