Even the Tories are having a laugh at Sevco following their Europa League knock-out.

Michael Gove has been at the forefront of the Brexit campaign, sticking with the cabinet in order to try and force through while many of his fellow fanatics have opted to fire attacks from the back benches.

While Theresa May and the Tories suffered a week of misery over their botched Brexit plans Steven Gerrard was having just as tough a time as he took his squad to Dundee and Vienna.

Less than a fortnight after reaching first place in the SPFL Premiership the former Liverpool youth coach has watched Celtic and Kilmarnock takeover at the top before being knocked out of the worst ever Europa League group after achieving one win in six matches.

Gove was speaking at a lunch in Glasgow last night but clearly misjudged the mood of his unionist audience.

The Sun reports:

UK Environment Secretary Mr Gove told a charity bash: “It’s a particular pleasure to be in Glasgow.

As you may know I am not a Rangers fan, but I am looking forward to talking to Steven Gerrard later.

He’ll be able to explain to me how you can exit from Europe before Christmas in good order.”

Gerrard has promised to be back stronger for Europe next season, assuming that he sees the season out at Ibrox.
