Seven days after making an early exit away to St Johnstone James Forrest is back in the Celtic first team.

The winger complained of a hamstring injury after opening the scoring with his departure leaving Celtic down to ten men to see out the game.

Forrest replaces Timo Weah in the Celtic side that beat Hibs in midweek with Kris Ajer on the bench after completing his suspension.

After the midweek 2-0 win over Hibs it’s back to business with the Perth side that Celtic beat by the same scoreline in their two previous matches.

Tommy Wright’s side went down to a 2-1 defeat at Hamilton on Wednesday which was partly a reaction to playing Celtic twice in the previous week.

A win would make it 24 successive domestic cup tie victories for Brendan Rodgers and edge Celtic to three matches away from a third successive Scottish Cup Final.

Despite the significance of Valencia visiting in midweek in the Europa League domestic matters remain the priority with more historic achievements within view.

CELTIC: Gordon; Toljan, Boyata, Simunovic, Hayes; McGregor, Brown; Forrest, Christie, Sinclair; Burke

SUBS: Gordon, Bitton, Ntcham, Ajer, Edouard, Lustig, Weah
