Charles Green is suing Police Scotland and the prosecution service for £20m over his wrongful arrest in 2015.

The businessman bought the assets from the old liquidated club in 2012 from Duff & Phelps and set about on a course of action to claim that his new club, Sevco Scotland were in fact the club that was going into liquidation.

Six months after purchasing the assets for £6.5m Green claimed that Ibrox and Murray Park were worth £80m with £22m raised in December 2012 from a share issue.

Now, according to The Sun, Green is seeking damages.

The ownership of those assets is under dispute with recovery firm Henderson and Jones taking on Craig Whyte’s floating charge by raising an action with liquidators BDO that they are due ‘first dibs’ from the liquidation pot.

Green, along with David Whitehouse and Paul Clark from Duff and Phelps, were taken into Police custody but no charges were ever brought.

Whitehouse and Clark have also raised actions against Police Scotland claiming reputational damages impacting on their careers.
