With Sam Allardyce and Harry Redknapp the players in the England and World XI were put through their paces with Compston something of a veteran of the charity footy circuit.
Despite playing for Aberdeen’s youth side and home town club Morton he has never hidden his support for Celtic, playing for the World XI he chose to wear number 67 on his back.
With Didier Drogba, Nicky Byrne and James McAvoy to call upon Redknapp’s side certainly had a cosmopolitan feel to it.
After the final whistle the two squads got to unwind with the Celtic anthems proving more popular than most on the coach to the late night party.
