With a manager still in place at Derby County and three years still to run on his Ibrox contract Steven Gerrard was happy to discuss the prospect of becoming manager of the Championship club.
Three days into a 10 day training camp that doesn’t include any matches the Ibrox side are delivering daily media updates as they paint a picture of sweetness and light despite the dark cloud from Sports Direct hovering above.

Sky Sports were given a one-to-one interview with Gerrard which was clearly aimed at an English audience with a constant diet of news gushing out for the Scottish market.
Rather than stonewall the Derby question, pointing out that his great mate Frank Lampard is in the job, Gerrard decided to play along with the speculation saying that he was aware of their interest.
During his media duties the former Liverpool youth coach revealed that no offers had been submitted for Alfredo Morelos despite the usual spate of stories relating to Colombia’s 11th best striker.
