L’Equipe has claimed that Christopher Jullien is just a medical away from becoming a Celtic player.

With the issue over David Turnbull on-going there isn’t likely to be any comment from either club on the likelihood of the 8 million euro deal going through but as the first publisher to break the story L’Equipe seem to be on solid ground.

Toulouse seem to be signing a couple of players with the finances for that coming from the anticipated fee for Jullien, L’Equipe reports:

Toulouse will have a significant financial area, made possible by the forthcoming transfer of Christopher Jullien. In negotiations for several days, Toulouse and Celtic Glasgow have reached an agreement in principle in recent hours around an amount valued at 8 million euros.

The former Dijonnais (26 years, under contract until 2021) who, after a difficult sequence, rebounded well at the end of the season, is seduced by the prospect of joining the Scottish club. A club accustomed to the C 1 and where the profile of the world champion under 20 years (in 2013) will be able to express itself.

He exchanged several times with the leaders and the staff. A contractual agreement was found on a long-term contract. A medical visit could be scheduled quickly.

With the Turnbull case in mind the Celtic end of the deal will be getting kept under wraps until the transfer is completed, making a significant addition to Neil Lennon’s squad.

Since January Celtic have been aware that they would be going into the Champions League qualifiers without Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata with another central defensive option, Mikael Lustig leaving the club last week.
