L’Equipe report French defender visiting Lennoxtown

|

Celtic have been linked with a move for Christopher Jullien of Toulouse.

The hoops seem to be linked to a new central defender on a daily basis but with respected French publisher L’Equipe carrying the story it does have extra credibility.

Christopher Jullien will soon have another experience after three seasons and 99 Ligue 1 matches with Toulouse. The central defender (26) is very fond of Celtic Glasgow, who appreciates his athletic profile (1.96m, 88kg). If he had not yet made a decision on his next destination, Jullien recently visited the infrastructure of the eight-time reigning Scottish champion.

Over the last few years the French market has become a favourite for Celtic to do business with.

Although Moussa Dembele and Olivier Ntcham came from English clubs they had been developed through the French system with Odsonne Edouard the club’s record signing when £9m was paid to Paris Saint Germain a year ago.

Celtic have a pressing need to bring in at least one central defender with the opening Champions League qualifier less than a month away.

With Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic moving on Neil Lennon will only have Jack Hendry and Jozo Simunovic to work with when the hoops report back for pre-season training on Monday. Kris Ajer will be given extra time off due to his international commitments.
